Paula imitated Ellen DeGeners on VH1 Divas last night, and here's the clip. Thankfully, Paula seems like the good old Paula we all know and love (assisted by the aid of an unknown substance). We miss her already!
Another contestant who has made it to Hollywood during American Idol 9 is Lee DeWyze from Chicago. He's got an ok voice, but nothing special that we've seen yet, and do we need another Kris Allen in the competition? He does need to shave that beard before people start making fun of it, but he's a decent singer with nothing else that stands out so far besides the fact that he covered Marilyn Manson's The Beautiful People. So he might be secretly interesting.
As we get the leaks, we'll let you know so you can start to judge the contestants of American Idol 9 already. Here is Kat Nestel, who has made it to Hollywood this year, performing "Saw Red" with some members of the band Sublime. She seems to go by Kat without any last name in all of her online info. In this performance she has a mediocre voice, but there are hints of a personality that might be fun in some of her YouTube videos. Kat, we encourage you to play up the personality in Hollywood.
Here is a preview for Paula Abdul hosting VH1's Divas, which has now become a sad shell of its former self that just promotes people tied to 19E. We miss Paula.
We see the "stretch a body so it doesn't look as fat" video technique is still being abused.
ETA: Jive lurked here and the video was removed twice, now it's back up a third time. So watch it fast before it's gone again.
Blake Lewis- Sad Song
We're not quite getting how Blake's new song is a departure from the exact same things he did on his last album. And a word of advice to Blake: No one wants to see you in your underwear. On a positive note, Casey Carlson looks really good in the video.
