Song Spoilers for Top 9 Week

Posted by thefunnystone on March 31st, 2009 at 4:19 PM

Via MJ's Big Blog.

Megan goes first and sings a Lauryn Hill/Bob Marley song. This one with absolutely no melody? Sounds like a VFTW victory!
Allison goes second, "Don't Speak" by No Doubt.
Danny Gokey goes third, "What Hurts the Most" by Rascal Flatts.
Anoop goes fourth, "Caught Up" by Usher.
Scott goes fifth, 'Just the Way You Are" by Billy Joel.
Lil goes sixth, "Surrender" (probably the shitty Celine Dion song, "I Surrender")
Adam goes seventh, "Play that Funky Music" by Wild Cherry (VFTW Victory!)
Kris Allen goes eighth and sings "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers
Matt Giraud gets the pimp spot (AGAIN?) and sings "You Found Me" by The Fray

Next Week's Theme Might Be the iTunes Top 100

Posted by thefunnystone on March 26th, 2009 at 8:10 PM

TopIdol says next week's theme might be iTunes Downloads, meaning the iTunes Top 100. Oh we hope that's true! Why? Because these gems are all currently on the iTunes top 100. Megan, darling songbird. Please pick one of these. Trust us, you need to really go all out and have a great time and we'll have your back. Some of the brilliant masterpieces on the iTunes top 100:

  • Beyonce - "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)", "Diva", "Halo"
  • Lady Gaga - "Poker Face"
  • Miley Cyrus - "Hoedown Throwdown", "The Climb"
  • Asher Roth - "I Love College"
  • Britney Spears - "If You Seek Amy", "Circus", "Womanizer"
  • Kings of Leon - "Sex on Fire"
  • Kid Cuti - "Day and Nite"

We left off the rap songs you can do as well. But seriously Megan, pick one of those songs and really go all out and make us proud! And hey Adam, if you want to sing "Single Ladies" as well, we won't stop you (hint hint).

Song Spoilers For Country Week

Posted by smarterthanpickler on March 17th, 2009 at 4:06 PM

This list is courtesy Joesplace and looks pretty reliable...

Matt Giraud - So Small (played piano)
Scott MacIntyre - I recognized his song, but for the life of me I can’t
remember the name of it. (played piano)
Michael Sarver - Ain’t Goin’ Down Till the Sun Comes Up
Allison Iraheta - Blame It on Your Heart
Kris Allen - To Make You Feel My Love (sat on a stool)
Adam Lambert - Ring of Fire (very sexy Eastern-influenced version that pretty
much made every woman over the age of 20 in the audience ready to jump him)
Lil Rounds - Independence Day
Danny Gokey - Jesus, Take the Wheel (partial standing O)
Alexis Grace - Jolene
Anoop - You Were Always on My Mind

Megan didn't perform at the dress rehearsal. Wonder why? Probably because she was putting together something EXTRA awesome.

Top 11 theme is Grand Ole Opry

Posted by thefunnystone on March 12th, 2009 at 12:10 PM

The top 11 theme has been confirmed as Grand Ole Opry week. We brought you the list of songs contestants could choose from, so check that out here if you'd like to see the songs that the top 11 might pick. There may also have been a few more songs added since then, but 90% of the songs sung next week should be off that list.

Megan, in case you're looking to VFTW for support, let us offer a suggestion. "Celebrity" by Brad Paisley would be perfect to mock reality TV as a whole. We'd also like to see someone sing "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" but that should probably be Lil, as she's the one with the humongous booty.

Song Spoilers for the Top 13

Song spoilers for tonight via MJ's Big Blog.

"Lil goes first, very confident
Danny goes third, sings PYT, very comfortable on stage
Scott sings from the piano…a song about having Faith
Kris uses guitar
Matt G sings from the piana too…he is 12th
Alexis goes last….sang Dirty Diana…very good
Adam sang Black and White…made it rock (looked like his make-up was toned down)
Anoop was 8th…sang Beat It…a bit of a new hair style, looked good, but seems nervous…has a chat on the stool with Ryan
Megan…forget her song, funny to watch her “dance”
Oh….I was a swaybot…afraid to say the mosh pit is still there
No word on what the twist is…they talk about it at the end of the show (it was on the teleprompter, but no details)"

Spoilers for the Upcoming American Idol 8 Theme Weeks

Posted by thefunnystone on March 5th, 2009 at 8:41 PM

Because the producers did not put Tatiana through as a Wildcard, we've decided to spoil some of the secrets of the upcoming season to piss them off. The producers want to make sure this information is not leaked to the media. Oops!

One of our always reliable sources tells us that three of the theme weeks currently being planned are Michael Jackson week, Motown week, and Grand Ole Opry week. The Grand Ole Opry week includes only artists that are a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Want to know who those artists are? Well we have the initial list of songs that the Idols were given today to pick from. In case you didn't know, most weeks the Idols are given a list of songs to choose from. The list is expected to expand slightly in the future, but never before have you been able to see the songs the contestants are chosing from... until now. Click "read more" for the entire list the contestants were given today for the future Grand Ole Opry week. We are recommending that the contestants pick "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" for maximum VFTW support. Maybe this will mess up Idol's plans a little and make them scramble to switch things up. Ya shoulda put Tatiana in, people. When will you learn?

Spoilerific news on the horizon. JoesPlace has posted a picture of Matt Giraud, Ricky Braddy, and Anoop Desai coming out of a movie with Alexis Grace and Kris Allen. This means the first 3 are back in Hollywood for some reason. It looks like they're 3 of our wildcards. Matt and Anoop were no brainers, but Ricky was a stretch after the whole web ordeal. Interesting news. Where's Tatiana, though?
