Sanjaya Malakar

We're kind of excited for the premiere of "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here" tonight. It's going to be on at 8/7 central on NBC. Of course, the show seems to run like every day, so we'll see if it keeps our interest. But if we like it, we'll start voting for the worst as always.

The cast is amazing, with VFTW favorite Sanjaya Malakar, always entertaining diva Janice Dickinson, foul mouted Patti Blagojevich, and spoiled brats Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt from "The Hills". It's like a train wreck purposely cast for VFTW's pleasure. We're not sure yet if we vote for people to stay around or we vote for people to do horrible things. But it's all one in the same.

Buzz surrounding the show says Heidi and Spencer have already tried to quit twice within 2 days and don't even want to be on the show anymore because they're suffering too much. Well, without any other extraordinary events happening, it looks like we may have found our VFTW picks. Spencer and Heidi to stay forever! So tune in tonight and check back in here to see what we do.

All we want to know is do we get to vote? Can Sanjaya win?

Sanjaya Malakar, the VFTW posterchild, was just announced as a cast member on the summer reality series "I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here" by Access Hollywood. The show is a Survivor-type show for celebrities that includes viewer voting. Sanjaya is just the icing on the VFTW cake though, with other confirmed cast members Janice Dickinson, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Geraldo Rivera, Heidi and Spencer from The Hills, and former Illinois governer Rod Blagojevich. This sounds the the train wreck to end all train wrecks, so count us in!

Sanjaya Promotes "Dancing to the Music in My Head"

Posted by thefunnystone on January 23rd, 2009 at 8:59 AM

Sanjaya has been all around promoting his new book and CD, Dancing to the Music in My Head. Here he is on Good Morning America, The O'Reilly Factor, and of course, Howard Stern. You can also check out an excerpt from the book here. Our papaya name drops Howard Stern, Ashley Ferl, the producers of AI... what, no VFTW reference? Come on, Sanjaya, we know you love us too. Make sure everyone out there buys the book and CD to support one of the greatest VFTW contestants of all time.

Sanjaya Malakar - Dancing to the Music in My Head Out Today

Posted by thefunnystone on January 20th, 2009 at 7:31 AM

VFTW darling Sanjaya Malakar's Dancing to the Music in My Head (available as a 5 track song CD or an autobiography book) is out today, so go support the guy that made VFTW a household name. We wonder if the book will be salacious or just kind of sappy. Hopefully Sanjaya spills all of the Idol secrets.

Update: The book seems like it's a great read! Sanjaya talks about how the producers let him through on Idol after he was cut, how they forced him to choose some songs, and how 19 Entertainment wouldn't even tell him he was dropped (he had to hear it from someone on the tour). Sanjaya doesn't disappoint!

Previews for Sanjaya's upcoming EP "Dancing to the Music in my Head" are up on Amazon.com. A book with the same title will be released with the album on January 20. There seem to be a lot of new age and world music influences in his album. We were kind of hoping for something a little more fun though too to go with it. Good for Sanjaya for getting something out there, but we'd also like to see one song called "Ponyhawk" or something. You know everyone wants to hear that one.

VFTW Parody on CSI Last Night

Posted by thefunnystone on December 5th, 2008 at 11:08 AM

Last night on CSI, there was a parody of American Idol. And in one scene, a character whose names rhymes with Sanjaya is talked about and no one knows why this person is still in the competition. And of course, it's alluded that a Vote for the Worst presence is at work. Thanks for the parody, CSI. Very funny!
