Chris Sligh
Chris Sligh's debut album, Running Back To You, is in stores today, so pick up a copy and support him. From what we've heard, the album is really good, and features Chris's signature vocals and songwriting abilities. Sadly, there is no track called, "Hi, Dave." Maybe it's on his next album ;-) You can find the album at a local store near you or online here (Best Prices we've found: $9.99 at iTunes for the download and $10 at his official site for the physical CD):
Official Website ● iTunes ● Amazon.com ● Target ● CD Universe ● Circuit City ● Sam Goody ● Best Buy ● FYE ● MusicChristian.com ● Family Christian Stores
Sounding great, guys! Good luck with the upcoming albums.
After David Cook sold tons of copies of his album "Analog Heart" on Amazon.com this past week, the album has mysteriously disappeared from the site. Actually, it's not mysterious at all. David can't sell his own music while on the show, an always-in-place Idol rule. The only people who got around this were Constantcrap Maroulis and Chris Sligh, whose ex-bands sold the music using the workaround that the singers were no longer members of the band. David Cook was the last non-plant in the competition, but the fact that he is being pimped so heavily at this point and pulling stunts like this makes us wonder if he's more planty than we expected. Though the article gets a good jab in at Carly: "That girl always looked like her head was about to explode when she was singing." So true. So true.

Chris Sligh's new album Running Back To You is out on May 6, but his first single is out now. "Empty Me", which is an outstanding showcase of Chris's vocals and songwriting ability, is up for spins on K Love stations, so give him a huge boost by requesting the song at your local station (or hey, all of the stations, why not!) With VFTW's help and the help of Chris's less sarcastic fans, we can help him have a hit record. Click "read more" to see all of the stations where you can request his single, and then do your part to help Chris out.
Check out this humorous video from Chris Sligh about the recording of his new album. And make sure to pick up his album when it hits stores in April. Of course, VFTW will have all the details, so stay tuned.
Chris Sligh Signs Record Deal with Brash Music
Posted by thefunnystone on November 16, 2007 - 10:59am
VFTW favorite Chris Sligh has signed a record deal with Brash Music. Congrats, Chris! We read the big news on MJ's Big Blog and Chris stopped by the message board to give us some more details. He's really excited about the deal and says that they understand where he's coming from and where he wants to go. Chris also posted a MySpace bulletin update this morning that says tracking starts on November 26 and "we will have my single to radio at the first of the year and I start touring hard in February. The album will drop the last Tuesday of March or the first Tuesday of April." It couldn't have happened for a nicer or more talented guy. So stop by the message board and congratulate Chris on the great news!
VFTW started off with a bang during season 6 of American Idol when we selected Antonella Barba and Sundance Head as our first two picks. Almost immediately, racy pictures of Antonella surfaced, causing a public outcry and a flood of support. Eventually, pictures appeared with an Antonella lookalike performing oral sex, and VFTW was the first website to prove that these pictures were without a doubt fake. After lasting 3 weeks longer than anyone expected, our porcelain princess and the big guy were voted out. We then selected Sanjaya Malakar as our pick, and what a whirlwind that caused!
Vote for Chris Sligh's Band in the Music Nation Contest
Posted by thefunnystone on April 2, 2007 - 10:40amEven though Chris Sligh was kicked off Idol, his band Half Past Forever is competing to try to win a contest on Music Nation.com. The grand prize is a recording contract with Epic, which would probably be better than the crappy contract the Idol winner will get anyway. So head on over here and give Chris 5 stars to help him out, and hopefully he'll win the contest. Hey, if the guy is ballsy enough to say "Hi, Dave" on the show, the least we can all do is help his band out, so make sure to vote!
