It's finally OVER!

WOOOOO!!! *pops champagne bottle*

Enough with the fake sob stories and Asian bashing, let's get to the real stuff.

"Real?" Come on, Smartie, you know better than that. LOL

From what we've seen so far, I don't think there's much of a good "bad" candidate. The show is really just the celebration of mediocrity that it seems like.

On a side note, has anyone looked at the other Pop Idol spinoffs? What if someone like Ari Koivunen won (from Idols Finland)?

I know, I know *hangs head in shame* what about the "not so blatantly fake stuff" then?

This was a disappointing year. The William Hungs weren't that funny, and the Sanjaya cannidates don't look very appealing.

I follow quite a few of them, better be careful though, Ari is my favourite winner ever, and it's not at all because of VFTW. unless I'm missing your meaning

All I can say is it is about damn time that crap was over. I cannot believe that so many people think the auditions are the best part of the show. How are you supposed to vote for the worst during auditions?? Silly people!

Just think of the audition shows as the "booster shot" necessary for the future shows.

I mean, considering the crap we're about to wade through, VFTW should be issuing hip boots and 30 gal barf bags.

Also ahead: the Hollywood shows. I'm wondering if the instruments the contestants are using are loaned or owned. Can you imagine getting to Hollywood carrying a full drum set? Or do we just consider all this as "product placement" ads?

How can an "undiscovered contestant" in *name a city* suddenly be in Calif with his full kit? He didn't try out with it, how do they know it would make great TV if they didn't have full knowledge of their "talent"?

Just saying I wouldn't lug the full set across country just to be eliminated.

The thing is, I liked Ari. He's definitely an interesting, enjoyable performer. If AI had performers like him, it might be worth watching. Sadly, American mainstream music doesn't allow for deviation from wavering, crappy voices and a song repertoire half as varied as modern radio stations. Ari knew what he liked, so he pushed it. Our contestants just want to make lots of people like them, so they lose any individualistic qualities.
