audition tips from an eye witness:
Quote: * Saw this post on the AI board. A girl who made it to Hollywood before auditioned in Birmingham yesterday. Guess she didn't like the line/table she was in so she went up to a producer and she was switched with another girl at another table. I saw the switch but didn't know what was going on as I didn't recognize the girl mentioned. Oh, yes, she made it to the 2nd round. Just proving what has been posted before on the boards and what has been witnessed by people who audition. There are good tables and bad tables. You (normally) have no control on which table they send you to (this is where the luck is). The only helpful hint here is to watch the tables to see who gets sent to the 2nd round. At least you will know what your chances are.
*They were selling water outside but when you got near the door you have to leave all water bottles since you couldn't bring in your own drinks/water/food. Hmmmm!!!!!
* For Future Auditioners: Please remember that they are casting for a TV show. The first round has NOTHING to do with how good you sing. There are thousands of good/great/awesome singers there. The first round is an elimination round only. It's really awesome how efficient they are in doing this round. In order to keep up the hype of the show, AI must show the most auditioners they can, giving everyone a chance and showing the world how popular the show is. The tables are set up with the staff (not real producers) who are doing one of 2 things....they qualify or disqualify. As mentioned above some tables never send anyone to the 2nd row. If you happen to get a bad table, then go to another city or try again next year. If you are really good. This is worth your time. The experience is invaluable. You never know when you will be one of the lucky ones. If you do get a good table, and if you are the type, have the look, can sing (not talking about the bad ones here), then you will be on your way to Hollywood. Good luck to all who audition. Remember to smile like you'll never smile again, own the song, and most of all HAVE FUN!!!!!

So well, saw something interesting, which may become interesting for you people that live in audition cities.
As y'all know, the San Antonio auditions were held back on Aug. 11th. No - before you ask - I didn't audition. Matter of fact I wasn't anywhere near downtown that week.
But what I found interesting was that on Sat., Aug. 26th, my husband, brother, daughter and I were spending time down on the Riverwalk. We had just gotten done eating when a boat motored past with a camera crew in it. My husband poked me in my ribs and asked if the guy sitting in the boat was Ryan Seacrest. One double-take and I realized it was. So now I'll have to see if we can be seen in the background eating during his little trip.
So if anyone wants to have a Seacrest sighting (and maybe a chance to fuck with AI even more), wait about 2 weeks after your town's audition! |

| Id audition for american idol if I could, as it is im auditioning for CI next year. I got the voice, and I got the story, and my looks dont suck too much for a guy with long hair. If they are open to new ideas, I think I could get really far. Its too bad im not in america, because I could easily get in on the male rocker thing. |

I'll have to remind myself to check these out later on... We need to start keeping track of who makes it through so we can research them early and find pre-Idol pics before they disappear.
Fresh meat! I love it so. |

I found the winner of the "Fame Whore of the Year" award. Some bitch waiting in line in Minneapolis is 8 months pregnant and trying out for American Idol again.
I met this same girl a year ago while waiting in line for the Chicago auditions. Every time a news camera came anywhere in the vicinity she would fight her way to get right in front of the camera. She's one of those types that thinks they can really sing and will sing for anyone with a camera. The funny thing was, too, when it was announced that the Simon, Paula, Randy rounds of the auditions weren't going to be held until 3 days later, she starts bitching about having to wait that long. As if she is automatically assuming that she will make it that far.
It looks like she is doing the same thing this year in Minneapolis. I almost wonder if she didn't time her pregnancy just to have a gimmick to get through to the next round. Her name is Rachel Coler, watch for her on the blooper reels. One of these videos shows her fabulous singing talent! VFTW!

Yeah it's pretty pathetic when a bunch of wanna be stars pile up on the sidewalk, each grasping at straws further and further from themselves. I can't believe she was trying to get on camera, that's just ridiculous, seeking fame and recognition like that. I mean come on, all those sorry bastards should have taken an example from you, who's singing skills obviously catapulted you to the head of the class.
Seriously, it's sad the way that those off-key freaks got in your way in that line. What song did you sing that got you chosen to appear on the show? Was it one of your own or was it a classic. God I wish I was there to hear it, I mean from the sound of things you are the obvious choice for the next American Idol.
The only thing worse than this chick are the people that just hang out, pffft they aren't even trying out. I mean what kind of a waste of life must these people have that they have to stand there and just watch other people try and fail. Jeez, at least get in there and do it right, like you did.
You are an inspiration, I can't wait to see you're face grace my TV. |

Ohsnap was able to point out the obvious lack of skill and talent that one of the contestants had, I don't blame ohsnap at all. I remember seeing him on American Idol 5, doing a stellar job (I relaly havn't "seen" it exactly but with this kind of obvious talent, I can't beleive ohsnap didn't make it all the way). Bring ya to speed? |

| So apparently Mister Gone is that pregnant chick who hogged the cameras, and is here to retaliate against snap for posting a criticism if her famewhore ways? That's the only sense i can make of the situation. But she's doing rather a weak job of it. Mister Gone, if you want to try to flame someone, do a search for Tbone. He can be your sensai. |

Whoa whoa whoa, hold the phone. At no point was I flaming ohsnap, I was actually addressing the talent of ohsnap. With such skills of deduction and observation and obvious singing talent, I assumed that he/she had made it to the finals last year after trying out. Of course it was the obvious choice, ohnap's selflessness is apparent. He/she was not there seeking fame or attention, oh no, he/she is above all of that. As far as needing an instructor in the ways of the message board, including flaming, I was working on Nelnet green screens back when you were a malformed sperm in daddy's sack. If you can't agree with me that ohsnap's talents shadow those of all around him/her them I am afraid you will just have to suck the sweat off a dead man's balls until his head caves in. |
