Quote: You've said you'd like to do a talk show.
That would be interesting, considering she can't complete a sentence.
This publicity stunt is so boring. |

| True. I wonder how much they paid her to go away and make a big deal about it? |

Paula is the new David Cassidy
Paula Abdul is heading to Las Vegas for her own show.
At a Sunday night soiree in Los Angeles to celebrate Lifetime’s primetime hit “Drop Dead Diva,” which Abdul guest stars on in episodes airing Sept. 13 and Oct. 11, the former “American Idol” judge confirmed the rumors she is about to get her own show in Sin City.
“That will be more… really announced later, when everything’s worked (out),” a glowing Abdul told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson. “It’s going to happen, but the details have yet to be ironed out.”

| Craig Zadan needs to re-name that Lifetime series to "Drop Dead Drunk" if he's gonna have Pauler on there. |

| Now that's not fair. Paula's more than a drunk. She's also a pill popper. |

^ If Paula brings all her dogs and sits on a wheelchair on VH1 Chubby Night, I'll be more than satisfied. |

Oh Pauler...it's really over. The AI reign of boozy pill popping incoherant ramblings is over.
I hope you get that talk show, Pauler, and I hope you bring the pills and vodka to every show. I want you to stink like rum so bad, the guests tweet about their BAC jumping up to .10 by just sitting next to you. |

Now that it's official that she's out for season and probably for good, shouldn't this topic be moved to the has beens section?
Anyone think her leaving AI is still a publicty stunt taken to new lows? |

It still won't surprise me if they fire Ellen and bring Paula back if Ellen isn't working out. Can you imagine the publicity? It's all about the publicity. |

| ^^^^ Nice in theory. But, Idol's credibility took a hit with Ellen's signing. Idol would be beyond saving if they brought Pauler back to replace Ellen this season. |

| I can totally see them bringing her back for the first live show for season 10. Imagine the publicity of that kind of surprise if there was no advance notice. This might all be carefully planned. Maybe Pauler needed a break and is just taking a 1 year sabbatical. |

Can you please explain what it is that makes you think Idol ever had any credibility? |

^^^^^ We know it doesn't. But, the average tard still believes it's a competition. That is changing with Ellen's hiring. If they dump Ellen to bring back Pauler (Which won't happen), the credibility factor becomes too much.
Furthermore, as I have said earlier, FOX is setting the table post-Idol. Watch for AI to be canceled after this season, and X-Factor takes its place in 2011. |

| No way. Fox will run Idol into the ground in the classic "have your cake and eat it too" scenario where they also debut X-Factor in the Fall so they can have 2 crappy shows that hemorrhage money from the frauen. |

^^^^ They already have set the table for your very same scenario on FOX' terms aka Having their cake and eating it too.
Cowell is signed through the end of AI 9. Ellen is signed to FOX for five years. Ryan is signed for five years.
So, here is what I am forseeing:
1) Cowell bolts Idol - Why work for Fuller when you can do the very same thing on your own terms. With Simon leaving Idol...
2) Sony bolts Idol - It is getting to cost too much for Sony to use the Idol format with little returm. Especially when they don't have complete control.
With the above said,
3) FOX cancels Idol - With Cowell and Sony gone, no need to continue. This puts four people in a bind;
4) Ryan has a five-year deal with FOX to develop his own projects
5) Ellen has a five-year agreement with FOX, part of which to pay for the lawsuit the MPAA nailed her show with. Sooo, she becomes free labor
6) Randy has a deal with FOX expires in 2011
7) Kara has a deal that runs year-to-year.
With all that said;
8) X-Factor appears with Simon in complete control with Ryan as host and Sony offering the contracts on FOX in January 2011
9) Ellen, with four years remaining, either develops a Reality or sitcom for FOX.
10) Ryan develops his own Reality series that could premier with Ryan as producer as soon as September 2010
11) Randy brings in a series of his own or "Dance Crew" to FOX
12) Kara is SOL
Now, what do you think is going down? Why would FOX have two similar shows where one is tired and the other is a carbon copy of the former, when it can have a fresh start on a singing show, a different dance show, a new reality show, and an A-Lister who is, due to lawsuits may end up working for free, and make far more money on what they already have? |

| Why the hell would they cancel the number one show? Fox won't cancel Idol until it's out of the Top 20 in the ratings. Even then, I could see it lasting for a while. They will do everything they can to keep Simon as long as possible and then replace him. Idol has still done well in many other countries without Simon. |

| ^^^^ If Cowell goes, so does Sony. Since Idol is an arm of Sony...you do the math. Since the Idols sign with a Sony label if they "win", if there is no rep from Sony on the panel, why would they stay? If Sony goes, Idol get canceled. Why? Because the "Idol" Series has a worldwide agreement with Sony that they have first crack at the Top Two. Furthermore, Cowell wants badly to bring X-Factor to the US. And Sony will back up one of their own. |
