Songwriter Kara DioGuardi was announced as the 4th judge on Idol, so she needs a thread for the inevitable mocking.
She is either a Worster or a terrible songwriter, as here are some of the songs she has written.
Ashlee Simpson - "Pieces of Me", "Autobiography", "Shadow", "La La", "Boyfriend", "L.O.V.E." and mostly every other awful song by Ashlee Simpson
Lindsay Lohan - "Confessions of a Broken Heart" (and 15 other songs by her)
Hilary Duff - "With Love", "Come Clean"
Paris Hilton - "I Want You"
Pussycat Dolls- "Beep", "I Don't Need a Man"
Raven Symone - "Backflip"
Ashlee Tisdale - "Be Good to Me"
Gwen Stefani - "Rich Girl"
Britney Spears- "Ooh Ohh Baby"
Nick Lachey - "What's Left of Me"
Avril Lavigne - "Runaway"
Celine Dion - "Taking Chances"
Jessica Simpson - "A Little Bit"
Backstreet Boys - "Something That I Already Know"
Leona Lewis - "Forgiveness"
A bunch of Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana songs
Bo Bice - " The Real Thing"
Clay Aiken - "This Way"
Taylor Hicks - "Give Me Tonight"
Katharine McPhee - "Love Story" and "OPEN TOES"
And some Carrie Underwood and Kelly Clarkson songs.
Post whatever you can find out about her here, and let's chop her into pictures to make her feel welcome |

She is also working on Archuleta, Cook, and Kelly Clarkson's upcoming albums.
Keeping it all in the family. |

Way to go TPTB...now they'll have even more indecisiveness during the auditions.
Who gets the final call when it's yet another 2-2 split? Simon?

I expect that she and Pauler will not get along AT ALL. There's no way that attention whore Pauler will put up with sharing the spotlight with another woman.

Paula needs to be treated like the gift that she is and no other newbie whore judge is going to get in the way of that.
I gotta say, the resume is extensive but not too high in terms of quality.
Remember when they had signed up Angie Martinez as the 4th judge and she backed out of the gig? I wonder why it took them so long to get another person if they really wanted a 4th judge. |

Anyone care to place a wager on whether or not the first single from Davind Cook's album is something this hack wrote?
Also, according to this article, she was a judge on "The One," so she has some experience at this. I wonder if Syesha gave a recommendation? |

I actually like Kara, not so much her songwriting, but she has a great voice.

I remember her saying that she was out of place on The One and that it was a weird experience for her... So it's weird that she's judging on American Idol now. |

As I recall, the two biggest problems with "The One" were:
(a) the contestants sucked, or at least they did on that show
(b) the judges poured nothing but praise over said contestants, making them (the judges) look like utter fools |

I'm not entirely hating this decision.
On the one hand, it's someone who can offer a substantive opinion (which Randy & Paula are incapable of.) The show has always needed another opinion more valuable than "Pitchy, dawg" and "Your outfit looks amazing."
But on the other hand, this is a 19E monkey who works with the chosen ones and will deliberately be boosting Simon Fuller's plants. |

So the woman who is almost singularly responsible for the crap pop music of this decade is judging Idol? How apropos.
Paula is jellis!
Quote: Paula Abdul "Concerned" About Fourth Idol Judge
By Us Magazine
Paula Abdul has mixed feelings about Grammy-nominated songwriter Kara DioGuardi being added as a fourth judge on Fox's American Idol.
On Phoenix's 104.7 KISS FM Johnjay & Rich radio show Monday, she said she was excited but added, "I am concerned about the audience and acceptance. Time will tell. We'll see."
She said producers hired DioGuardi because they "wanted to try a change.
"They always tried for a fourth judge because it followed the format of the original show, Pop Idol," Abdul said. "We haven't had much luck with that working, but we're gonna give it another try."
Asked if she, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell have sat down with DioGuardi to test their chemistry, Abdul replied, "Nope," and laughed.
What happens if she and Jackson vote one way, but DioGuardi feels differently?
"That's gonna be weird if it's a split decision," Abdul said. "I'm sure Simon will get to make the final [call]."
"It takes the fun out of all the hard work I do to push those kids through," she added.
DioGuardi will be involved in "everything" (including live shows), said Abdul, who is in New York City for Idol auditions. "We shoot tomorrow."
The show premieres in January.
DioGuardi's songs have appeared on more than 100 million records by the likes of Christina Aguilera, Gwen Stefani, Celine Dion, Faith Hill, Pink, Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey.
The songwriter's work has also been used by past Idol contestants, including Katharine McPhee, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Taylor Hicks, Bo Bice, and Clay Aiken.
"She is a smart, sassy lady, and one of America's most successful songwriters. We know she will bring a new level of energy and excrement to the show," Fuller added. |

Paula and Kara wrote a song together, so they must be able to have enough chemistry to work together.
Kara has written songs for some Canadian Idol and Australian Idol contestants, too. |

That is, by the way, exactly what used to happen in the UK version. If it was 2-2, Simon had the casting vote. Well, at least on screen. I imagine the producers had the real casting vote, or perhaps the only vote. But on screen at least, Simon got his way unless all of the other three ganged up on him. |

Yeah, that's from Wikipedia, but looking at the rest of her resume, it's probably true.
So I guess the changes Simon was talking about are going in the cheesy Disney Channel direction. I have a feeling she and Simon are going to be agreeing a lot. They both seem to like vomit-inducing pop songs.
...Wow, she's worked with a lot of Idols. Is she taking Nigel's place as the plant picker? |

It's true, her website says so.
She wrote for that awful Esmee Denters girl. I found a leaked track from that album, and it sucks. I uploaded it to YouTube and her manager yelled at me and forced me to take it down. |

Paula's comments sound like they are already playing up a fake cat fight between the two women.
And this woman looks way too much like Katpee! |

For anyone who's interested, here's a listing of her body of work on BMI. It's a website where songwriters can register their songs, to collect royalties for performances and stuff.
557 songs!

o_o, what song did Paula and DioGuardi write together?
I'm afraid the new judge will not have the chemically-enhanced lunacy of Paula or the diva-bitch fits of Simon. She'll probably be the female Randy Jackson (ie. useless). |

You don't understand! Kara CAN'T crack into the buisness! She doesn't have a signature sound or look! I asked her yesterday when I auditioned for the next round of American Idol! She was a guest judge! She cut me! I thought the same thing about Celine! PW is NOT a real group! It was a spoof group from a VH1 movie! Don't feel bad! Kara is FLITHY rich and not shy about telling you and whether or not YOU will be a star! She was rude and unprofessional to me!

This is excellent.
She writes the worst dreck I've never heard of, for the best known pop singers.
Fits right into the AI panel.
