Now we don't know if this is definitely the correct Shannon Turner, but we're pretty sure. And if that's the case- HELL YES. We love this chick! This is what we're talking about, please give us more over-the-top, fun, interesting people like her on the show this year. Some fun facts about this Shannon from her Facebook:

Tim Urban - American Idol 9 Hollywood Contestant

Tim Urban is a Christian singer from Dallas. He's a bit of a cheeseball and a bit bland (which is obvious by his list of favorite musicians being John Mayer, Jack Johnson, James Taylor, and Josh Groban), but his voice is decent and he doesn't really seem like a douche. We'll see if he makes it to the top 24 or if he's merely fodder.
Danny Falco - American Idol 9 Contestant
This kid is an obvious VFTW choice. Danny Falco, a 16 year old from Harmony, RI, has made it to the judges this year on American Idol. We do not know if he made it to Hollywood, but his singing is so funny, we had to post it here to laugh about. Since Danny posted a picture of himself with a golden ticket (left) on his MySpace and he's plastering that he's an American Idol 9 contestant all over YouTube, we're guessing he was cut. At least we might get to see him as a bad audition. There is plenty of his VFTW worthy singing on YouTube, like Bad Romance and Let Me Love You.
Nicci Nix (Nicole Palmeri) - American Idol 9 Hollywood Contestant

Nicci Nix was on the Danity Kane season of Making the Band under her real name, Nicole Palmeri, and was eliminated first. She also appeared on reality shows Next, Exposed, Date My Mom, and Fear Factor, so she is clearly desperately looking for fame. Add that to the fact that she dresses in ridiculous clothing, records songs with titles like Sexcessful Virgin, and has an odd stage name, and we could be looking at a VFTW favorite here. This girl should be right up our alley.

Daniel Murillo - American Idol 9 Hollywood Contestant

Daniel Murillo, who is a touring member of the band Hollywood Undead, has apparently made it to Hollywood for season 9 of American Idol. The guy sings and looks like a complete douche. If this is what we can expect from him, hopefully he's cut early, because he doesn't seem like the type to play to VFTW.
UPDATE: Reign in Blonde, a metal blog run by females, wrote to us to mention that they had posted about Daniel a few days back, and one of the Hollywood Undead's unintelligent fans dropped in to defend the band.
UPDATE #2: As never having heard a Hollywood Undead song before, we listened. The first one we heard was called Dead in Ditches with the lyrics "That's when we ride on bitches/you fucking faggot snitches/so don't you try/we're packing 9's/we'll leave you dead in ditches". Lovely.
American Idol 9 Hollywood Contestant Angela Martin's Mother is Missing
Fox Chicago is reporting that Angela Martin, a past Idol contestant who has made it to Hollywood again this year, is experiencing a tragedy. Angela's mother, Viola Martin Brown, went missing the day after Christmas, and no one in her family has heard from her since. Angela told Fox Chicago that she knows her mom is still alive, and they need help finding her. We hope Angela's mother is alright, and we encourage you to contact Chicago Police if you have any information. We'll keep you updated as we learn more and we'll link to Fox once they put something up on their website.
Since the Hollywood rounds have not been filmed yet for Idol, we can hope that Idol isn't terrible enough to exploit this story on their show, especially since Angela's father is dead and Idol already did a long piece about Angela's special needs daughter. Who are we kidding... Idol has no decency.
UPDATE: Fox finally put the story up on their site. Took them 12 hours.

Skip ahead a bit in the video to see Siobhan sing. It's a really bad quality video though.
Siobhan is the singer in a band called Lunar Valve and seems quirky enough for us to like her. She even shaved her head before the Idol auditions. That's two points for Siobhan so far. She also looks like she won't take the Idol stuff that seriously. So we'll see if she turns out to be the quirky contestant the producers let into the top 24 or if she's merely Hollywood fodder.
Heather Todd is an indie singer who released an album on iTunes this year. She actually has a really good voice for recorded music and her songs sound well mixed for being done on a small label. Many of her songs could already be played on pop/rock radio (except the cliche "Nothing But the Blood (Of Jesus)"), and one already has been. Her song "Over My Head" was picked up by about a dozen small radio stations in 2008. So she has that going for her. Despite her mainstream vocals, she's a bit of an oddball appearance wise. So will we like her or will the producers craft her into a plant? We'll see soon enough.
