In damage control mode today, Paula Abdul tells Entertainment Tonight that she was actually commenting on David Cook's song when she mentioned Jason's "second song" during her infamous flub on the show last night. It's not believable, she should've just gone with the "I'm drunk" excuse. Her critique on "Jason's second song" was that he wasn't trying hard enough to get into the top 4 and that it wasn't good. Her critique of David after catching herself was that he was good. This should be proof enough that Idol isn't even good enough at lying to fix simple problems that expose how fixed the show is. If it truly was a misunderstanding, it would be easy to explain. But since Paula is lying about it, something is up. Also, EW's Popwatch blog talks about how Nigel Lythgoe was FREAKING OUT when Paula messed up with quotes like, "Nigel was frantically gesturing a single finger to anyone who could see him: ONE SONG! THEY'VE ONLY SUNG ONE SONG!" The fact that Nigel was freaking out is a sure sign that this was definitely something big. (If you missed Paula's flub, you can check it out here.)
Watch Paula read the lines she was fed by producers to say to Jason after his second performance. She says these after his first performance. The audience laughs at her since she's commenting on a performance that hasn't happened yet, and Simon and Randy look mortified that she messed up so bad. VFTW Victory! Even her "save" was pathetic. She then said the comment was meant for David Cook. Except the comment was "you're not fighting hard enough" and her comment for Cook was "fantastic." You go, Paula. Mess up more and expose the show!
Bigfan has posted a spoiler on our site and Caffiend at MJ's Big Blog has confirmed. And since we hate this show, we will give no warning. Here is the supposed spoiler: Light of Doom is gone. That blows. But hey, we got them all the way from the top 12 to the top 4. Great work, kids! Though it looks like the show wanted them gone and sabotaged the kids' efforts. Adam Bruck, the man who put together Light of Doom let us know that:
This trainwreck happened because NGAB wanted it to. The show's music
director Ricky Minor arranged ALL of the music for us this week. The
big drums in "We Will Rock You" were his brilliant idea and NONE of the
kids wanted to use them. In fact we didn't even want to play that song
at all. We chose "Stone Cold Crazy" and "Tie Your Mother Down".
I wrote our original song "A Matter of Time" but Ricky Minor did a
complete remix, adding new parts and basically chopping the shit out of
it. And again we didn't even want to play that song, we wanted to play
"Speed Demon" another original that has a much stronger hook.
I guess they're ready for the kids to come home.
For shame, Nigel. For shame. We don't like when you mess with our picks like that. At least make the fight fair. But I guess it'll just fuel our fires for our ultimate sabotage of American Idol 7. No need to vote anymore, Denver and the Mile High Dorkestra just doesn't have the same ring to it. I think we'll all enjoy our Friday nights much more now. See you guys in a few weeks for craptacular Idol and have a very Worster holiday season!
This is a really interesting read from Howard 100 News. It talks about the possible rigging of American Idol and what the producers thought about VFTW this year, so make sure to click read more and check out the whole thing.
"Does Howard 100 News owe an apology to American Idol contestant Melinda Doolittle? A source inside the show claims that American Idol was reportedly in a panic yesterday to put the brakes on a Howard 100 News investigation into voting on the FOX talent show. This source alleges the show decided to switch horses at the last minute, that contestant Blake Lewis was allegedly scheduled to be told to go home last night, until Idol producers changed their minds...
Looks like it. From the Stern site, posted earlier today:
"Has Howard 100 News finally uncovered proof that American Idol is fixed? An insider at the hit FOX show tells reporter Steve Langford that Lakisha Jones will go home tonight. Howard 100 News received this information on Tuesday evening, before America even voted on the four finalists. Our information from the source inside Idol cites travel arrangements already made for Lakisha Jones, and none of the other contestants."
Interesting! We'll keep you updated as Stern and friends do more research. Let's see what they can dig up. If they get any more info about the show being fixed, you know we'll let you know first. We really hope he digs up some good stuff because this could be the one thing that makes the show interesting before we all fall into comas.
America's Got Talent, another crapfest produced by the same company that makes American Idol (Fremantle), was exposed tonight in a major way. VFTW reader Steve tells us:
Just more proof that any show Fremantle produces isn't on the up and up. It's not a talent competition, it's reality TV, folks.
Edited To Add: Rickey.org has the video.
Edited to Add More: Arcadian's claim was edited out of the replay of the show last night. Looks like the producers aren't too happy. Because they're idiots.
