As I listened to Kris Allen's debut CD, a nagging thought wouldn't get out of my head: I've heard this before. You'll think the same thing as you listen to Kris's CD. But just because the songs aren't that innovative, it doesn't mean that some of them aren't good. The album is definitely a respectable effort from Kris, especially regarding the rush job recording sessions necessary to get the album done. Read on for the specifics.
Adam Lambert is Tanking, So Kris and Allison Are Brought in to Rescue Him
Due to the fact that Adam Lambert's songs are pure shit and no one will play them on the radio, there is now a new contest to win a concert with Adam, Allison, and Kris altogether. Adam is not anywhere near the draw that 19E was expecting, so they have to package him with Kris and Allison to get anyone besides the Sparkle Cows interested. Popeater premiered Kris's first video today. It's not bad, but what's the point in having a clock counting down if the numbers constantly jump around and nothing happens when it hits zero? Kind of anticlimactic, don't you think?
Kris Allen Prank Calls a Vocal Coach
Kris Allen does a prank call for a radio station where he calls a vocal coach and says he wants to sound like Adam Lambert. The vocal coach says that the whole Adam Lambert-Kris Allen thing isn't that good and says he prefers Clay Aiken. The call goes on for a good few minutes where the coach keeps saying that that Kris guy is "alright" and Kris humors him by saying "that Kris guy sucks." Kris is really showing a great sense of humor recently, we need more of this.

Kris Allen performed at a Miami Dolphins tailgate party and debuted some of his new songs. The clip above is low quality, but you can get an idea of what his original song "Can't Stay Away" sounds like. It's not bad. Certainly 100 times better than "Live Like We're Dying", so Who might have a chance of having a career yet. We shall see. (Via TopIdol)

19E finally gets a semi-attractive winner and they pick a weird looking shot of him for his album cover? And they use funky looking font that looks thrown together? Well, looks like they're not putting the time into promoting this one.
His voice is sounding very tired, he probably needs a good rest. Definitely not the best he's done. Funniest part of the video: When Conan comes out and makes Kris look even shorter than he is.
