Chris Sligh's Blog Makes it to The View

Posted by thefunnystone on October 2nd, 2009 at 6:10 PM

The harpies on The View discussed Chris Sligh's blog about what Idols should do with their small amount of fame. And oddly enough Sherri Sheppard was the voice of reason, saying Chris's blog was realistic, while the others thought it was cruel. No one said the ladies were smart. (Via MJ's Big Blog)

Chris Sligh About to Sign a Major Label Deal?

Posted by thefunnystone on May 31st, 2009 at 11:36 AM

Chris Sligh blogged that he asked to be released from his record contract with Brash Records and is in talks with a major label. Good for him! Good things always happen to the people that VFTW likes.

"So it is about 99.9% sure that my next label home will be a major label. Not just any major label...one in particular, but until the deal is finalized I'd feel more comfortable waiting to tell you guys specifics. However, I want to let you guys know what's going on...

The morning that I was granted my wish to be released from my deal with Brash, about 10 minutes after the release phone call, I was on the phone with the President of a major label talking about signing there. The next morning we (Mitch & I) had a meeting with him, the VP of A&R and the VP of Marketing and we just talked about the direction of the record and we gave them the songs."

Chris Sligh Performs "Here Comes Goodbye"

Posted by thefunnystone on January 26th, 2009 at 6:12 PM

Chris performs the song he wrote for Rascal Flatts. His version actually sounds better than the Rascal Flatts version. Now that he'll be filthy rich from writing the song, he won't have to sing about how he needs money anymore. Love ya, Chris.

Chris Sligh is the Man Behind the new Rascal Flatts Single

Posted by thefunnystone on January 19th, 2009 at 9:01 AM

Chris Sligh just announced that he has cowritten the new Rascal Flatts song Here Comes Goodbye. The band liked it so much, it's going to be their first single off of their new album. Wow, that's pretty big! Rascal Flatts sells 10 bazillion copies of anything they put out. Chris cowrote the song with Clint Lagerberg, the same guy who cowrote Chris's hit Empty Me. The song debuts on country radio today, so we'll let you know when you can listen to it. Score one for the big guy, congrats Chris!

Update: The song will be available tomorrow. So watch for it then.
