When the West Coast got an eyeful of the immense VFTW trainwreck that was Adam Lambert's AMA performance, the simulated blow job was edited out. ABC is pretending that they didn't know it would happen (yeah, right). Adam told the LA Times:
"If it’s gonna be edited, then in a way that's discrimination. I don't mean to get political, but Madonna, Britney and Christina weren't edited."
This from the same guy who recently told Entertainment Weekly in reference to a letter in Out Magazine:
"It was my desire to stay away from talking about certain political and civil rights issues because I’m not a politician. I’m an entertainer... in order for us to progress, we need to stop segregating ourselves. A letter like that, that viewpoint — the letter that Aaron wrote is holding us back. Because it’s recognizing the big difference as opposed to letting us all ignore preference and just be people."
Adam's contradictory quotes just keep getting more entertaining by the minute. But if he keeps performing like he did last night, we may have to start liking the guy for intentionally tanking his career.
That performance was too hilariously bad not to let you get your comments going. So post your reactions to Adam Lambert's "For Your Entertainment" performance at the AMAs here. From grabbing some woman's crotch and yanking to making out with a tranny to the sweaty close up at the end, it was pure awfulness... and we couldn't stop laughing. Not to mention the horrific off key vocals. I guess maybe VFTW should support him after all since that truly was the worst performance of the night. Even with Whitney Houston performing.
After the whole Out Magazine controversy, Adam Lambert decided to dispell the rumor that he's being managed poorly by people who don't want him to do "gay" things (their quote). Turns out, Adam is the moron who is turning his back on a pre-made fan base that probably would have supported him. First, he tweeted a nasty response to Out, then he told Entertainment Weekly even more:
"What people don’t realize is, I am managing my image, more than maybe the editor of OUT magazine likes to give anybody credit for. My team is a team... I’m not being puppeted around. I didn’t want to jump onto a gay magazine as my first thing, because I feel like that’s putting myself in a box and limiting myself... a letter like that, that viewpoint — the letter that Aaron wrote is holding us back. Because it’s recognizing the big difference as opposed to letting us all ignore preference and just be people. So I think in attempt to champion a cause he’s actually taking a big step backwards."
So basically, you're insulting all other gay people by saying you don't want to do anything having to do with your sexuality because you're just so over it? This from the guy who claims to be "edgy" just because he's gay and likes to pose with naked women for no reason. What a douchenozzle. We're still on Team Aaron.
Not that he ever stood a chance, but Adam Lambert will clearly not have the #1 album next week when it debuts. Amazon.com is reporting that anal sex loving Brit, Susan Boyle, has by far the best presales of any upcoming album. And with Lady Gaga releasing her Fame Monster, Rihanna's Rated R, Shakira's She-Wolf, Beyonce's I Am... Yours all being released that day too, Adam will be lucky to break the top 5.
Adam Lambert’s debut album For Your Entertainment has been hotly anticipated by the fans who voted for him on American Idol. But is it any good? Adam departs from the fake rocker vibe he portrayed and is releasing a purely pop record in the vein of Britney Spears. To be honest, Adam is a much more convincing pop princess prototype than rocker, but the hodge-podge of rejected songs from other popular pop musicians don’t help him much on this debut effort. Read on to see exactly how the album stacks up.
Oh, the excuses for this one are going to be priceless! It seems that Aaron Hicklin, Editor in Chief of Out Magazine, is calling out Adam Lambert for being a hypocrite in the very same issue that features Adam on the cover. Hilarious! And it's actually really funny. Here are some excerpts from the letter, which call out Adam and his record label/management (those fine Idol affiliated folks).
"We're curious whether you know that we made cover offers for you before American Idol was even halfway through its run. Apparently, Out was too gay, even for you. There was the issue of what it would do to your record sales, we were told."
"It's only because this cover is a group shot that includes a straight woman that your team would allow you to be photographed at all - albeit with the caveat that we must avoid making you look "too gay.""
"Much easier to stick you in Details, where your homosexuality can be neutralized by having you awkwardly grabbing a woman's breast and saying, "Women are pretty."... Imagine how much more radical it would have been to go down on a guy instead of that six-foot Barbie. We don't think you would have a problem with that - why should you?- but your record label would, and letting them dictate the terms is the very opposite of rock 'n' roll."
"The irony is that right now it would be easier to get Kris Allen to do a Solo cover shoot for us. But only because he's straight."
This Aaron guy is awesome! We're loving him for telling it like it is.
News is flying around the internet that Adam Lambert's presale numbers for his For Your Entertainment album are incredibly high. Let's break down what's actually being said:
November issue of Rolling Stone: "Pre-orders are through the roof", says Carl Mello of music chain Newbury Comics.
Entertainment Weekly, November 20: "A rep for Amazon.com tells EW that presales for that week are the highest of the year - and that Lambert has done better in pre-orders than any American Idol alum ever."
Remember, these are magazines. Their information is dated, probably at least a few weeks. Adam Lambert had great presale numbers over a month ago... but no one has been talking about the album since people actually got a listen to his music and saw his album cover. We're sure Adam will sell decently in his first week regardless, because most Idols do. His semi-fame and his rabid Sparkle Cows will see to it that he has a decent debut. Remember, even Taylor Hicks sold almost 300,000 copies of his album in its first week. We expect the album to tank in its second week. just as "Time for Miracles" did. Without strong radio play from a single, Adam can expect the same fate as Taylor.
So is Adam's album setting any records? No. The presale numbers are just higher than other Idols, not necessarily unexpectedly high. And presales don't completely determine an album's first week performance. Yes, Adam has a shot at debuting well in his first week, but this isn't guaranteeing anything. The Sparkle Cows are just grasping at straws to make it look like Adam is going to be a star. Which he won't. Again, VFTW is the voice of reason.
Amazon.com is already selling Adam Lambert's For Your Entertainment album for $3.99. Looks like someone isn't selling as much as they thought, so the label has to convince people that the album is worth $4 since it's not worth $10. Trust us, the album isn't even worth being free. Still, Adam's first week sales will be fine thanks to the Sparkle Cow preorders. Week 2, he won't be so lucky.
