Clay Aiken blogged about Adam Lambert's loss, saying that he was happy because Adam was the perfect example of a professional who didn't need Idol to help his career. Clay wishes the show would go back to trying to find undiscovered talent instead of pimping proven failures like Carly Smithson (the Carly comparison is ours, not his. We just like to use her as a punching bag.) Clay blogged:
"The show was different then, and folks made it in seasons 1-3 because they were "real" people who happened to sing/entertain well. But, somewhere along the way, AI stopped being about real people. In a battle between David and Goliath, my money is on David!
I think many voters got sick of being "told who to vote for". I think many were turned off by the blatant favoritism shown towards one contestant. Therefore, on that last night, they used their votes against a contestant that they were tired of hearing about and for the contestant who had been written off. And, at the same time, I think they voted AGAINST an American Idol that has, for four years now, been more about the slick productions and polished contestants than it has been about finding the raw talent that it did in its first three seasons."
Preach it! Though Clay does leave out that he was pimped beyond belief at the expense of other contestants, just like Adam was. But does this make Clay Aiken a sort-of Worster?

Oh oh oh, Clay, suck it. Go
Oh oh oh, Clay, suck it. Go sing in Spamalot and leave Adam to his more attractive/more talented-ness.

oh my, it might be more than a month. david archuleta fans are STILL upset.
What an idiot, doesn't he
What an idiot, doesn't he realize that his mediocre voice and awkward closet phase are exactly why AI didn't promote him. One of the worst media events in a while was him stepping out of the closet, he may have been the only one who didn't know.
He is soooo jealous that
He is soooo jealous that Adam not only is the first openly gay idol, but that he also got Kris to fall in love with him....you were a coward, Aiken, get over it! Adam is rightly the shit!
Plessssuuuuseee.... Clay
Plessssuuuuseee.... Clay just wishes he was Adam!

-and, did anyone notice that kris's mouth is shaped like a monkey's, also, alot of guys are pissed because even though adam's gay, he's still sexier than your average straight man.-
doesn't brat pritt look like shemales.... ?! and, keep on exuding sexiness regardless hes been paparazzied like a decade ago?! people kno his shape inside and out... and most people don't bragging on it. it's the whole packages that matters... plus, most of the pics are way suggestive than adam's (this is kinda tricky though, but still acceptable i think as adam's falls between that too...in its respectful categories). but leave that thoughts alone...., it's adam's own attitude against his own self that keeps getting people away..... he's basically sabotaging himself, he's not being sincere to himself...., you can clearly see people being less and less rooting for him, including clay. at the end of the day, you know it's a show biz and hes already signed a deal from day1.. forbidding him to tell this & that to the media unless he's been told do the other way around. also, you must be living under a rock if you find adam was sexier than the other one... he's kinda okay, but not hot imo. tell ya what.... visit your local bar on drag night and you'll see better queens in them then adam was. rupert everett is sexy.., rufus wainwright is so-so.. got it? idol-wise, too many i think... ~just insert name here~. but beauty is in the eyes of the beholder so i got it tho

...you're kidding, right?!
Ruben beating Clay is the single most controversial upset in Idol's history... people STILL get angry about it, lol.
The Allen/Lambert upset doesn't even come close... give it a month and no one will really care that Adam lost.

also, wilfried, it doesnt cost money to vote. lol....and when there is an upset, like this year, it's to make more people vote next year. and, did anyone notice that kris's mouth is shaped like a monkey's, also, alot of guys are pissed because even though adam's gay, he's still sexier than your average straight man.
clay was a joke from
clay was a joke from beginning to end. "if i was invisible" says it all, except for the fact, that unfortunately, even if he was invisible, we could still hear him warbling.
Just to clear up my
Just to clear up my position. I am not a Glambertard. I did not care for either of the finalists. Kris and Adam had their faults with me and all missing notes. I think Clay is also upset that the tards he had did not go ape shit crazy on the internet when he lost.
Everyone is entitled to have
Everyone is entitled to have an opinion, but the Claymates went berserker when he lost
out to Ruben. I've still got the treadmarks on my back side to prove it. Glamtards have
nothing compared to the Claynation.
On another note.. yes the real racism stuff didn't get started until S3... Ruben did have
Jesse Jackson all over the TV promoting him, and I still say that on the actual show...
Ruben was great.
Of course as noted... that was when he was covering good material... not trying to sing
that junk they gave him for his first CD release.
Clay is such a bitter old
Clay is such a bitter old queen, with a bad case of internalized homophobia... He' just angry he wasn't allowed on cbs studios' grounds...
In any case, I don't see why there is so much speculation about why did Allen win:
- Three candidates: Adam, Danny, Kris sharing roughly 30% of the votes. Two of them singing roughly he same things, roughly the same way
- Danny gets voted off
- Danny fans vote against Adam/ for Kris because it's the closest thing to Gokey
- Kris wins, mathematically
Why the need of conspiracy theories, or any kind of interpretation that people rebelled etc etc. People didn't rebel, people don't give a fuck about rebelling: The kind of people that vote for AI are sheep, ok? They're middle America fucktards who have nothing better in their life to do than spend money on phone calls for a TV show.
I believe that a lot of the
I believe that a lot of the "contestants" are plants on the show. Adam Lambert has had "tons of experience" with various Hollywood venues - theater, night-club performances and there is a You Tube video of him singing at a memorial for former Israeli Prime Minister Rabin. He even said he had been performing since he was 10 years old.
Carly Smithson had a record contract overseas before joining Idol. David Cook had produced a CD project, as well as other Idol contestants over the years. Even Taylor Hicks had been performing in clubs for years. It was reported that Allison Ireheta had won a $50,000 prize on a Latino reality show when she was 15 years old. In many cases, these people are already seasoned performers, even if not in huge markets. They didn't jump up off of their couch and head to the Idol auditions.
I truly believe Lambert was a major plant and AI made their mistake by making it so painfully obvious. For some reason, the situation with Carrie Underwood has always seemed strange to me. Even though she is a very good singer and has had some very successful hit songs, her performances seem really manufactured. She seems "stand-offish" from the audience.
Jordin Sparks' dad was a successful athlete and she had been on the performing circuit for years. A lot of these people seem to already be in the right place at the right time or at least have decent connections.
Don't feel bad for Clay's
Don't feel bad for Clay's career. He has sold more albums than anyother male idol including winners. He made more money in 2008 than any other male idol. Not too shabby considering he was never really promoted or played on the radio. Also, 9 sold out concerts, solo not with any other star. Enough said.
I don't really like to
I don't really like to comment, but I couldn't let this go by. Please do me a favor and take a look at Season 2 and then tell me Clay was pimped. Ruben was the Adam of Season 2, Clay was insulted almost constantly. I have to say I was a fan of Adam's also, he's very exciting to watch and I love his voice. But I think sometimes when the judges really favor one contestant it does turn some fans against the person. I also would like to see professionals not turn up on AI. I don't think thats what the show was all about originally. And AI now compared to the first 4 years is very plastic and very commercial and enough already with all of these has-beens that are trying to kick start their careers. I thought the show was supposed to be about the kids. It was in the beginning. Thats why those old shows are so much fun to go back and look at.
Clay obviously is a
Clay obviously is a homophobe. Snark. Snark.
True stingray, if Kris flops
True stingray, if Kris flops TPTB will start PLANTING EARLY for the next harvest of American Idol season 9, and the Sheeple like the Bitterberts will go MAD over them. They will just love them and worship at their feet, until the next CROP of SEEDLINGS comes around.
Pieces_of_trash and nnglas
Pieces_of_trash and nnglas are right. Kris won because of the "Perfect Storm" effect. Had the Judges and Producers acted like their titles and not as cheerleaders for Adam, Adam might have had a chance. I'll be honest, in reading all the blogs and statements, I would not be surprised if Kris destroyed Adam by at LEAST 2-1. I think many voters got tired of the pimping, and turned on Adam. Not only that, people that SUPPORTED Adam sat on their hands, believing that Adam will get a contract whether he wins or not. Add that, and with the Gokey and VFTW vote going to Kris, Adam was toast before the finale even began.
That said, next year is going to be a watershed year for AI. TPTB, Sony and 19E will be hopping mad if Kris does not do well. If Kris does not start well, if you thought Season 7 was planty, wait until Season 9. AI will make the Amazon Rainforest look barren by comparison. I doubt ANYONE from the cattle calls will be going to Hollywood. Only those that are "invited" by TPTB will even be allowed near a golden ticket.
I can see there are a lot of
I can see there are a lot of "passive-aggressive" Glamberts posting on here. "oh Clay is just jellius" "Clay is such a loser"...lol
Passive Aggressive bitches. Yeah I saw that term also, someone coined a new term for you guys, BITTERBERTS, and it fits so well.
The lametards all across the
The lametards all across the internet are getting ridiculous. Making excuses for anything posted about Madam. Attacking anyone who utters a disparaging peep about Glambert. Even MJsBlog and rickey.ped is getting attacked by the Lametards. It's so pathetic. The idol world are giving them a new name now, the Bitterberts. LMAO.
Be careful Lametards, or you will turn into the claymate tards. Oh, who am I kidding...you already have.
"Let's not forget the impact
"Let's not forget the impact of the racial aspect here. Chatter abounded at the
time about how Idol was racist because diva wannabee of the day had been
voted out."
i believe the racism controversy officially started in season three, when fantasia, latoya london, and jennifer hudson were all in the bottom three. that's when i recall oprah saying that the show was racist, and all of the magazine articles about it.
Forgot one thing I wanted to
Forgot one thing I wanted to mention about Ruben vs Gayken...
Let's not forget the impact of the racial aspect here. Chatter abounded at the
time about how Idol was racist because diva wannabee of the day had been
voted out. That led to Jesse Jackson, a ton of news coverage, and a lot of
people voting for Ruben so they could stick it to "the man" and same noted
man's policy of institutionalized racism in the ole U.S.A. Jackson was the one
pimping Ruben, and the media gave him the format to do such.
Clay wasn't originally
Clay wasn't originally chosen, and made it in as a wild card.
I don't think he lost though because of a lesser singer being pimped.
On the show... Ruben was great. Well.. okay.. I admit great is a subjective
phrase and must be considered in the context to which it refers, but still...
Rubens failures are/were because of health, and some of the worst material
ever given to an Idol winner. I was given his CD, and I can promise you that
even the mighty Jamie Foxx and his voice box couldn't have made that material
sound good.
Okay.. that was a bad comparison, but you get what I am saying. Substitute
whatever name you like for J Foxx.
Clay only exists for me for one reason... I love reading the words "Clay Aiken
came out... etc, etc". That just makes me laugh and laugh and laugh.
Seriously... I never grow tired of reading how he "came out of the closet". Not just
for the humor, but because it reminds me of my dear departed grandpappy whose
favorite saying was "son, that horse done left the barn".
Wasn't Clay voted off on his
Wasn't Clay voted off on his season and brought back? Or was he a wildcard or something? I didn't watch that season that much but I don't know why I thought something happened with him.
Adam was put in the same
Adam was put in the same situation as you. Pimped from day 1, then ended up losing, with America shocked. Don't be talking Claiken, you should know better.
I think it's funny that Clay
I think it's funny that Clay thinks Season 1-3 wasn't about pumping the contestant they wanted. In Season 2 Ruben Studdard could do no wrong, and Clay- who should've won (strictly vocally speaking)- didn't because Idol was all about pimping Ruben as their shining star. Yeah, sorry Clay, you were a victim of this too, bud. The show hasn't changed much.
No, that just makes Clay a
No, that just makes Clay a bitter old auntie.
Go Claylene!!!! Can't
Go Claylene!!!! Can't believe that we agree on something, I am not a fan. However, he is telling the truth. AI used to be a show that found raw undiscovered talent and gave them training and a stage to see what they can do. AI was kind of charming in the first seasons when I think about it. It gave a "waitress" Kelly Clarkston, and an "illiterate" Fantasia a chance to change their lives that they never would have had. And even with the pimping, we probably would never have heard about some service manager at (was it an auto parts store)? named Daughtry.
They really crossed the line with pimping this year. It seems that America was never supposed to vote for anybody but Lambert. I mean smoke machines, lit up stairs, the pimp spot, all but declaring him the winner ever other week. I mean come on, it was ridiculous. A coworker of mine said that by the middle of the season, it was like Adam was the guest singer on the show with all the productions they put on each week instead of a contestant. And she was right.
Look I voted for Kris because I am a worster, however, I think some of America voted for him because perhaps he was what the show orginally represented. A contestant who was unknown with no training, who grew each week as an artist and deserved a chance.
And for all the crazy Glambert fans..... Get over it. You have no one to blame for him not winning but the judges. Perhaps if he wasn't shoved down our throats each week maybe things would have been different.
its not really Adam's fault
its not really Adam's fault that he got pimped...that was all idols doing
If memory serves, didn't
If memory serves, didn't Kelly Clarkson have a record contract that fell apart sometime pre-Idol? There ws that whole back story about her LA apartment burning down, which is why she was living back in Texas, although she was on her way back to LA with or without Idol. My point being that Kelly was a plant, so the pimping has been in play since minute one.
It's true that last year
It's true that last year VFTW was all about the plants, this year it was all about Kara and Gokey.
Adam is indeed a plant and I agree with Clay on that one.
Clay is still an ass who
Clay is still an ass who charges $29.95 for people to subscribe to his blog! He also wanted to get Adam to do a duet with him according to the Chicago Sun Times.

Clay wasn't pimped on Idol
Clay wasn't pimped on Idol until the very end. He started out as fodder, and I don't think he was intended to go much beyond tenth place. But the frauen fell in love with him and he dominated the vote, so they had to let him move on.
Ruben was pimped from day one. He was their annointed winner that season. But it was still easier to take than Lambert, because Ruben, like Clay, was a complete nobody when he entered the competition. Kelly Clarkson was also a complete nobody, as was Fantasia. Carrie was the first plant, which marked the point where the show started losing its charm. And from that point on, they've had way too many seasoned professionals.
Kris Allen was also a complete nobody going into the show, and like Clay, he wasn't figured to go very far. But Kris followed Clay's footsteps. I like to think that maybe America is speaking up and telling Idol that its sick of all the seasoned professionals and the pimpage that comes with it. Although perhaps not as good, Idol needs more Alex Wagner Trugmans and less Adam Lamberts. Clay is RIGHT!!!
Actually LambertFAIL it was
Actually LambertFAIL it was Ruben who was pimped on the show not Clay. I am have been watching Idol since the first season.
Pieces_Of_Trash wrote:... it
I'd say Ruben was Gokey and Aiken was Lambert. Which means they both were pimped, but it just happened to have worked for Ruben better.
"LambertFTW, you need to

i should just make a new one. anything involving this season of american idol pisses me off at this point.
and keep in mind i'm not a Glamtard, i just don't like clay. haha. i suppose he's right though, but as someone else pointed out before, he was pimped on the show as well.
I like what Clay said about
I like what Clay said about real people as contestants. He was in effect calling out the plants.
Glamturds...uh I mean
Glamturds...uh I mean Glamtards are now complaining and bellyaching that Clay is JELLIUS.
Clay is telling the truth.
The reason Glambert lost was because he was a fuckin' professional and the show knew it and everyone figured it out. Which caused a big backlash. Simon and TPTB where force feeding us Glambert, who tried to hold back on his Divaness to be 'acceptable' to the Joe and Martha Six-pack.
The fools who became Glamturds are so hypnotized what the show is force feeding them they can't see that Clay is right and play right into the bullshit that Idol is feeding them.
Then they are crying that some guy off the street beat their prized pony in the final race and these idiots hate it and so does Simon Cowell and TPTB.
That is why I am glad we VFTW worsters defeated TPTB season 8.
clay's a bitter queen. he's
clay's a bitter queen.
he's just angry that he couldn't get into adam's pants.

Testify Claylene! I gotta wonder if he's relieved that the fat old bags have a new object of misguided lust or he's jealous that Adam is prettier than he is.
Clay was before I started
Clay was before I started watching, so I can't comment on the accuracy of his suggestion that I-Dull was EVER "really" about finding undiscovered talent - maybe it was.
But his comments about the show these days are dead-on. I'll give the producers a little credit here - at least this year few of the contestants were outright "Plants" Like last year - when at least 4-5 of the top-12 had prior record deals &/or TV experience - in other words, were already established "in the business" to some degree or another.
Madame's had a LOT of past stage experience, and someone claimed he did a record with Randy a couple years ago???? But other than that, the cast this year at least "seemed" to be bona-fide "amateurs"??? As for Clay - don't cry too many tears for his career! According to Forbes magazine he still ranks #6 among all former I-Dull contestants in money earned. $2.2 million: Link
BTW, for an interesting read on what its like to work for the slave-masters at 19E, check this out - Link
I'm not surprised so many former winners got out from under 19E as soon as they could, but I DIDN'T know Kelly Clarkson does not allow I-Dull to even use her songs!!!! WOW!!!
I have to disagree slightly
I have to disagree slightly with this one. Simon did take a few shots at Clay, if I remember correctly. Ruben was the prized pet who could do no wrong that season. I agree with a lot of the things he says here.
I agree with Clay that Idol
I agree with Clay that Idol voters decided to support the contestant that they were told not to support. It was like Heisman voter rebelling against ESPN hype and east coast sports bias and voting Oklahoma's Sam Bradford over Florida's Tim Tebow
Lam(e)tards, just fuck off
Lam(e)tards, just fuck off
I think Clay is jealous
I think Clay is jealous cause he is looking more like a dumpy frau since he came in second place. I would be shocked if Adam was looking like a dumpy frau in 5 years.
