Beyond the usual bad over-airbrushing, I think they might have tried to do that "stretch vertically by 10%" (the maximum you can still fool the eye with) photomanipulation trick that makes people look thinner, but the pointy hair is fighting the effect and making him look like a Conehead wearing a wig.

Many of you used to make fun of his hair and how bad it looked. I never really noticed, because I never cared enough to look. Now I see what everyone means. It looks like he is wearing a cheap tupee/wig.

Okay. I actually like David Cook, but I concur, dear god that album cover is awful. Guyliner and awful pointy hair and everything. Why do so many of the Idol alum covers nowadays look like they were done by a Photoshop n00b?
I was looking forward to his album, but Light On is awful so that gets my hopes way way down.

Wow, that's pretty bad. Too much guyliner and not hiding his receding hairline very well. Sorry dude, this seems kind of sad. Hopefully the music is better than "Light On", because it'd be nice to see a decent Idol album every now and then, but we're not holding our breath.
