Hey I was in line before auditioning right next to him and I had a feeling he'd make it. Hes not amazing but he's not bad either!

I've seen Lee live in Chicago, and all I can say is that the video doesn't do him justice. He has a fabulous voice! and his songs are very deep and great lyrics!
His look needs to change though, I agree. He's cute, but too shabby.
But I couldn't disagree more with what you've said here. Lee has a powerful and solid voice and I think when he learns to have a stage presence and does something about that sloppy look he's got going, he will take off.
I think it's easy to understand why he made it through, maybe you guys should wait to see him live before you decide.

this video doeesnt show this kids talent...saw him perform once.. his voice is great and hes much better live than this video shows. Listen to more of his stuff on youtube such as red rover and then vocie your opinion... i think he can surprise alot of people

If you haven't heard Lee live, you haven't heard Lee! He is an amazing singer, songwriter, and musician. Some of you clearly have no taste in music. Just watch what happens in January, you will feel foolish for your absurd comments. He is pure, natural talent!

Another contestant who has made it to Hollywood during American Idol 9 is Lee DeWyze from Chicago. He's got an ok voice, but nothing special that we've seen yet, and do we need another Kris Allen in the competition? He does need to shave that beard before people start making fun of it, but he's a decent singer with nothing else that stands out so far besides the fact that he covered Marilyn Manson's The Beautiful People. So he might be secretly interesting.
