Blake Lewis Didn't Pay His Taxes

There's no tax exemption for being a douche and locking your fellow Idol contestants in closets. Too bad, because Blake Lewis, best known as the least successful season 6 American Idol contestant, had a tax lien filed against him by the IRS. Turns out Blake owes $124,798 to the federal government from the year 2007, which was when he was on Idol. Blake's spokeswoman said that everything has been taken care of, but no lien release has been filed. Maybe Pocket Tool will have to sell his million dollar house that he bought when he thought people would actually buy his music.

In related news, why has it been so fucking easy to find pictures of douchebags sticking their tongues out this week? This makes number 3, after Chris Daughtry and Danny Gokey.

In even more related news, it turns out the Blake Lewis Army (who run his street team... yes, sad) is just as douchey as he is. Figures.

Amanda Overmyer sticking her tongue out for the camera doesn't count, of course.

How stupid is Hobbit? He bought a million dollar house pre property bubble busting so now it's worth half that. Why would you buy something so ridiculously expensive when you're just starting out with no guarantee of money coming in to cover that?

Idiot.

Does he not know that if you don't pay your taxes, you can go to jail?? Blake, meet Hatch from Survivor, who is back in jail.

You are a retard, Chode. You are not above the law, and you better call Tax Attorney Ronnie Deutch, she can settle your IRS debt for chwenty dollars.

(she's some lame ass lawyer whose commercials run constantly during tax season here....and she has the strangest pronounciation of words Twenty=Chwenty)

Smartie, I thought that his idiocy was already established.

What I'm wondering about is why he bought a million dollar house when, not only could he not pay it off, but he had that much debt. I don't think that even an idiot would do that. That's what terms like "retard" are for.

The winner of Survivor tried to pull this stunt to... it's like this, Z-listers: Just because you won't be making the same type of money each year doesn't mean you get a one-time exemption on paying taxes during your big payday year.

Pay your effing taxes.

As for that Blake Lewis Army thing, I can understand deadlines and all, but just sending a few pics shouldn't have been too difficult, even with difficult family circumstances.

Seriously. Haven't any of these people ever heard of say, like, a $200,000 house? Don't you think that would be enough, especially for one person? Why do people, who suddenly come into a bit of money (I really can't see this guy as being a "multi" millionaire) feel they need to go out and buy expensive stuff and live beyond their means? If I got a million or two, the very last thing I would do would be to "upsize". The house I'm living in now is just fine. It doesn't make any sense to me, but then again, so doesn't a lot of shit anymore. He might do ok in the slammer, who knows. Bubba and Shirley can pass him around like a pack of smokes.

"when he thought people would actually buy his music"

I bought his album and his new single, and love them.

That amount was kind of shocking to see, because what would his income have been for that year - like somewhere under $300k? Oh, I guess with the tour, plus the album that's not so shocking.

Wow, harsh.

If it were just happening in a vacuum I'd think Blake was more like the guy from Survivor, but you hear so many stories of this happening to so many people these days who find themselves underwater with their mortgage.

Blake's lucky he's still with a label and has a new album coming out - here's hoping he's not spending all his cash on $500 sneakers or whatever and is going to get himself out from under this.
