Daughtry's Career Isn't So Good the Second Time Around

With Leave This Town not selling anywhere near what their last album did, the band Daughtry isn't enjoying much fame or radio play nowadays. Did the world finally get a sense of taste and realize we don't need anymore Nickelback clones? Take this concert review, for instance, from the Oakland Tribune:

"The capacity crowd was filled with soccer moms and suburban housewives that came to party. They pursued that goal with gusto, to the point where there were reports of women getting sick in the bathroom and having to leave the venue.

Others weren't so lucky and stuck around for Daughtry's entire monotonous set."

Will PWE's career recover? Or will he face the same fate as most Idol alums- finally realizing that he's a pre-packaged musician who was never intended to last a long time, making way for the next pre-packaged Idol contestant to release a Nickleback clone album next year?

No one did not fail to not see this coming. David Cook shouldn't even bother with a second album.

In other words, making an ass out of yourself by puking your guts out in front of strangers and then getting bounced cuz you're a lush STILL beats seeing PWE all the way through.

That is one way-sweet rip job! Is the Trib reviewer a VFTWer?

They don't need Daughtry anymore. David Cook was his replacement.

What's really sad is that the Fillmore has a capacity fill of about 1200, that's right, 1200, which is less than the number of students at many high schools across the nation. So a "sold out show" is not all that big of a deal. AND David Cook will be at the Fillmore in a few weeks. Claim that fame while you can, cuz it goes out quickly.

Nickelback clone? Nickelback is a clone. Daughtry is a clone of a clone. Being that is just beyond lame.

Somewhere in heaven, Bob Maynard is smiling.

Aha! It's a Plastic Penis With Ears!

I think he is a talented singer and I like his voice (don't shoot me), but his head is the wrong place as far as what sells. Wake up, Chris! It isn't 1996. The 90s/00's grunge alt-rock days are over. The musical stylings of Live and Creed are no longer considered original and yes, everything done on Daughtry's latest album has been done over a thousand times by dozens of other bands.

Maybe that will be more apparent to him if this album continues to sink.
