I am not surprised. Although I would not be caught dead listening to his music, if I were a record exec, I would probably sign up, knowing he would probably sell.
He's got something going on and a following at well.

Why the surprise he got signed to a major label? After all, once upon a time, MCA signed one Carly Hennessey. We all know how that turned out.
I don't think Stoney's album will sell well. There may be plenty of Castrotards out there, but I would imagine they're broke. They gave all their money to Mama Castro's Laptop Fund.

Jason always seemed like a cool dude. He took a lot of shit from Simon and faced it with a smile ("I was thinkin' Bob Marley!").
Don't forget he was once our VFTW wunderkind. We embraced him wholeheartedly - and not in a hateful way. And now we think he's an asshole because of his family? He's guilty by association? Fuck that.
If we're going to hang him for his cash-whore mother and his smug little brother, then we are acting like the sheep who follow AI.

I have yet to see him condemn anything his family has done. So he has given them his tacit approval. So he IS guilty by association. Q.E.D. Also, he never seemed to embrace his Worstocity like Megan or Sanjaya, so screw him.

Who cares about this hair-do has been. Why haven't we see more of his hot brother Michael? He sure got the boot on AI, no more air time, when it was decided he wouldn't go on. Pleasant to look at if not hear.

Where does it say that Jason is signed ? As far as I know he never said it and there was no official statement from Atlantic. He may be working with them, but that does not mean he has a full-fledged record deal. IIRC, once upon a time Constantine was working with Atlantic too and we all know how that turned out.

Is this one of those "development" deals and not really a recording contract? I can't see an actual record company bothering with this scrub at this point.
I don't think Jason's constant high allows him to really process what's going on. It's his mom (aka Beasty) who's the Machiavellian mind behind all the tard grifting. Be that as it may, screw him and his loser family.

Jason Cash-ho says in an interview at Billboard.com that he found a "home" at Atlantic Records. Oh, hell no. Beasty Cash-ho doesn't need any more money from her cash cow son. At least this gives us ample opportunity to chronicle plenty of failures as his album tanks and his family desperately tries to get free stuff out of it. Is there a family that's more money hungry than the Castros? Probably not. Rumor also has it at MJ's big Blog that Jason is working with Kara DildoGuardi on some songs. They should be doubly awful then.
ETA: Apparently the record deal is NOT confirmed, still a rumor. Our faith in humanity is restored.
ETA2: Dammit. It's confirmed. Why anyone would sign this idiot is beyond us.
