Jim at DialIdol found out something hilarious that will inevitably affect this week's Idol show. When the producers set out to make their top 13, did they not realize they would need 13 phone numbers for people to call? 1-866-IDOLS-## is the general format for the number, but Idol only owns phone numbers 01-12. If you dial 1-866-IDOLS-00 or 1-866-IDOLS-13, you get a phone sex line that has "hot horny girls." A lot of parents are going to be angry if their child mistakenly dials the wrong number! Though Idol seems to be all about the sex this year, with the jokes and innuendos at an all time high (mostly Kara's fault).
So if Idol apparently doesn't have a 13th number, but they plan on having 13 contestants, are we going to have some lame twist where the judges save one of them or something? How many times can Idol jump the shark in one season?
i would say it would be disadvantageous to not perform for a week. personally, i'd rather not sit through another one of deadwife's songs, but the producers are gonna force me to, whether or not he's got immunity.
