I jokingly thought that Idol needs to copy survivor and have an immunity idol...maybe my goofball though is not that far off the mark.

The contestants will be stranded one at a time in the toughest part of Beverly Hills, along the way they can try to find the immunity idol. :-) (It would have to be someplace safe, as the producers would not want to put Ryan or the video staff at risk by putting them in a real dangerous place.

Realistically this is probably what will happen

After watching all 13 performances, the judges will decide who they felt the best, and that person is safe from elimination, and the 13th performer will get the available number

or

one of the choosen one will get the oddball number, and if they get the least amount of votes, TPTB will deam that they were at an unfair advantage with having an oddball number, and thus get to stay.

Ha ha ha. Wow. Just goes to show that Idol can't get away with a Top 13. Anyways, they're going to make it seem like they planned on doing something sketchy, like saving or eliminating, even though the producers shit their pants after Idol needed another girl, thus adding the 13th person. I am laughing right now at the stupidity of the producers. Seriously, they'll find a lame way to deal with this, and pretend it is 100% planned, but the producers/judges are just idiots for adding the 13th.

Maybe the dueling pianists will do a duet and will share a number. If you want them on the tour, vote for them. If you think they'll be an encumbrance, don't.

BUT we are forgetting that they give out the numbers after each contenstant, meaning that they couldn't give out the numbers after each person, which would ruin the show. They would require the producers to already know who was safe so they could give us the number recap clip. Which would not suprise me.
I'm just confused how they could do the saving without having the idolists hold up their hands showing us the number..?

Priceless!!!! Ok, just a guess here - but really - the "voting" at this stage of the game is mostly (if not completely) a joke anyway. My guess is they will have some sort of deal where less than 13 people are subject to voting - either an "immunity" for one of the clear judge favorites (as noted above) - or maybe give 4-6 people they like best a "Pass" and only have voting on the rest.

Just a guess.

Outside shot - they read this post today and immediately rushed out and bought another set of 13 numbers - say, or example - 1-866-01-IDOLS etc..

Maybe they will give someone a ZERO - how cool would that be !

At last! Something entertaining from voting, instead of, "Thank you for voting for contestant X." I may have to vote for contestant 13 just to see what I get on the other end of the phone.

00 is also taken. Someone tested them out and all numbers from 13-99 are owned by the same company. Haha.
