The jokes for this one are just too easy. Country On Demand reports that Kristy Lee Cook, who was signed to Arista Nashville before Idol, then dropped, then signed back with them again after Idol, was again... dropped. Her album wasn't half bad, but apparently the label said Why Wait? and got rid of her before she could build a fan base. We'd blame Arista Nashville for being heartless, but really, who is stupid enough to sign with the same record label that dropped them before? Seriously, Kristy, you might want to make a better business decision next time.

well, she could still try
well, she could still try finding another label, i liked some of her songs.. at least it's better than the Davids.. and if that doesnt work out she could still try acting or modelling.... or porn...
Awwww, that really sucks :(
Awwww, that really sucks :( I really enjoy her voice and thought she would make it pretty far in country music. Country music is basically all i listen to with the exception of David Cook, David Archuleta and Jason Castro from AI and Theo Tams and Mitch MacDonald from CI and i find Kristy's music better than some of the people they play on country radio.

Eh, her album was crap (not her fault they made it in somebody's basement in 3 days. They probably wrote the lyrics in napkins). But I'm surprised she was dropped so fast.
At least she outsold Carly.
I think Kristy should get
I think Kristy should get into acting. She 's a pretty girl & she did sell us on that horse story for a while { not bad acting}. I say, she should ditch Nashville . Head to Hollywood & get into acting.

Her album shits on Gaspy and Baldy's crap efforts and her single was really good. Unfortunately hardly anyone will ever hear it because no one will payola her onto radio like they will with Gaspy and Baldy. Damned shame, honestly. I liked her stuff, and I hope she gets a chance to tour and possibly build up an audience that way.
Oh please... what's with
Oh please... what's with this KKK pity party.
How good could her cd be?
She royally sucked on Idol!
Believe it or not, it was
Believe it or not, it was the best album I've heard from anyone this season (haven't heard Chile yet, but definitely better than the shit the Davids have). Nothing I'd spend money on, but not bad either.
She'll be fine though. She's got the look, if nothing else. I still can't get over that she was dropped twice, hopefully she won't believe the saying third times the charm and sign with Arista again.

First, the horse, now, the record label. What will Kristy lose next? My bet is her Man, or something we don't expect, but I'm placing my bets on the man.
Actually, AATFC, you are
Actually, AATFC, you are correct. Her Man is next to go on the hierarchy of "things that country singers lose," followed closely by her dog and her pick-up truck. After that would be her mama.
I thought "Already?!" when I
I thought "Already?!" when I first heard. She was dropped faster than Blake and Phil, and her material was much better.
Fender could be right, she did say one of her songs was supposed to be on her first album. I think she should give modeling a shot.
Even though I have been
Even though I have been making fun of her with many chops, I don't feel good about it. Maybe she wasn't meant to be a country singer.
With a name like Kristy Lee
With a name like Kristy Lee Cook, I'd say she was born to be a country singer. That doesn't necessarily mean she'll be a good one, however.
Trying not to sound like a
Trying not to sound like a fantard who justifies everything that goes wrong with the object, but I'm thinking that it was just a temporary deal to begin with. The cd was probably pretty much done prior to American Idol, but she had to be unsigned to participate. So, they dropped her, she participated, and then signed her just to get this cd out the door. If it sold like hotcakes without much promotion, they'd re-sign her. But, since the cd got little or no promotion, and zero payola, I don't think there was much intent by Arista to do anything more than release this cd. So, it doesn't surprise me.
And, there may be more going on than what meets the eye.
I'm just speculating. I really have no idea what goes on in the evil minds of record producers.
