Michael Johns is eliminated. The only thing funnier would have been Carly's swan song. The open mouthed friend in the audience was pretty hilarious. Bye bye Aussie douche bag. "Last year for Idol Gives Back, no one left us. This year, Michael... it's the end of the road." Awesome. Always good to make Paula cry. Continue to victory, Kristy!

The only way this makes sense is that the producers think that they've managed to throw the general public off Carly Smithson's scent by "depimping" her over the last few weeks. That, or they've decided that they wanted to generate some additional controversy by having a "shocking" elimination, plus rub it in our faces by not letting Carly get "voted" off before Sanjaya did. Actually, it is probably a combination of both, in light of how poorly Carly acted being "sincerely" shocked. Her attempt to act like she thought she was going home was even less sincere than her decision to adopt her husband's last name a couple years into their marriage.

Aww, I just came in here to express my sincere condolences to Beckeye. As much as I was not a huge fan of the Aussie, I thought he had two pretty good weeks in a row, and it was not his turn to go.
