Star Magazine Picks up on the Carly Smithson-Randy Jackson Connection

Vote for the Worst was the first source to tell you that Randy Jackson was senior vice president of A&R at MCA Records while Carly Smithson was signed there. Now Star Magazine picks up on it in their latest issue. They even have a quote from Randy, as told by an industry insider. Nice work, Star! Why is this still not a big deal? The producers shrugged off the "plant" story, and now look, 7 of the 8 remaining contestants are plants. If this story is shrugged off, Carly could actually end up with a record deal. We cannot let this happen. Keep spreading the word that the Carly-Randy connection is ridiculous and get as many Carly fans as you can to stop voting for her. Especially since it's hilarious that she tears up with even the mention of the bottom 3. She's nothing like VFTW champ Kristy who makes herself a name tag. Go Kristy! Boo Carly!

All the reporters who read this site daily should have been reporting and investigating this weeks ago.

DO SOMETHING PEOPLE! Idol is a big con and Randy is desperate to prove his $2million donkey isn't really a massive failure now taught as a cautionary tale in business schools! Now is the time to blow the Idol cover and expose this show for the sham it really is!

We need to get Carly booted in next two weeks. She dissed Sanjaya, the Prince of Papaya, who graced the Idol stage until Week 7. Oh the irony if she were to be dumped at the same time, or earlier.

Speaking of irony, TPTB's efforts to prevent another Sanjaya have fatally damaged the show. Not only are the plants they picked boring, but there is none of the excitment of a nobody becoming a somebody.

Honestly, didn't we already know she was a plant? And, according to the caller on Wednesday, Randy has worked with just about EVERYONE. And I guess that EVERYONE includes Carly. Let's just kick her off and not have to deal with this anymore?

I really love Star magazine. They have given us credit for a lot of things, and help us get some things that we haven't been able to.

GET RID OF THE PLANT.

She's in the top 8. She's pretty much guaranteed a contract even if she goes home this second. I'm sure she'll outlast Kristy Lee. Not much anyone can do about it so why bother wasting your time?

Why not? ;)

St. Hubbins there is right. Carly's getting a record deal no matter what. That's pretty much obvious. And I would rather spend my time salivating over Michael Johns than bothering to pick up my phone and vote or not vote for anyone.

Oh yeah, I know, he's a douchebag, blah blah blah. Whatever. :)

Yes, Carly will get a record deal. Our job is to ensure that she sells no more than 300 copies. Deja vu, anyone?

I'm kind of confused here. I understand why the site is voting for Kristy and that's cool; I'm supporting you. I just don't get why Carly being a plant is so much worse than Kristy being a plant.

I smell what you're steppin in there, but Kristy wasn't signed with MCA while Randy Jackson was working there. Carly is the plantiest plant ever planted on the AI stage. I know deep down she won't win as long as the Archulater is in play, but it would be totally awesome if Kristy outlasted her with her pandering and sub par vocals.
