Why has no one else picked up on the fact that Carly Smithson previously worked with Randy Jackson?

It is all over the media now, thanks to VFTW, Dave. I wish more people would credit you though! Most of them act like they did the research and discovered it. It's filtered down to the official site, where most of the sheep are yawning and don't care about Carly's past. Some do care though and I think it has reduced her fan base somewhat, as people don't like being fooled.

The "sheep" are yawning because it's a singing competition, not a political campaign. I don't care if it's her first, second or third chance, it's my first chance to hear her and I'm down with that. Unless she's using a vocoder, there's nothing to be fooled about. Either she can sing or she can't.

It's not like it even matters who wins at the end of the day. These aren't the people who are going to make decisions that actually effect us. It's just pop music.

I also don't see how being affiliated with the same company is suddenly the same as working together. Like all these people are sitting together in a room saying "hey remember that random chick that recorded a flop for us half a decade ago? Lets bring her on the show to make her a star!" Please.

I dunno, I'm just amazed at the stupidity of this site anymore.

You say you want to ruin the producers' plans but either the show is fixed or it isn't. If it fixed, it won't matter what you do. If it isn't fixed, then why bother?

I used to depend on this site to have an ear for the crap talent, but you all seem to have your heads so far up the butt of that whiny kid with a guitar you may as well join the ranks of all the other whiny teenyboppers bemoaning his absence on the AI boards. MTV and Ellen love him, too. Yeah, you're real rebels.

I don't know why people think he was cut inexplicably. He's immature and has a lot of growing up to do, and should really go back to school. Odds are he didn't make it past the psych screening.

Honestly, do we really need another poor man's poor man's poor man's Coldplay minus wisdom, maturity and lyrical depth? Spare me.

I know this will probably never happen, but there is something I actually WANT to see on American Idol this season. Hell, it might even cause me to watch every single episode. I would love to see Carly completely butcher a song. Missed lyrics, cracking voice, the whole nine. Then, after this, I want Simon to "slip up" and say something like "Carly, with a performance like that, it's no wonder you only sold 378 copies." What do you think the producers would do?

Carley had a failed career and so they are trying to give her a 2nd chance.. THAT IS BS.. To sit home and vote on a show like AI when you can hold her MCA CD In your hand as you vote ... is a crock! Other people would like a 1st chance at a singing career and can't one BUT THIS GIRL Gets 2 CHANCES with the same people I.E Randy Jackson ???? Why does AI Think if she wins she will sell anymore than 378 CD's this time ? No one liked her before! HAs anyone noticed her Husband is never in the audience ??? Because she would never win with a tattooed faced husband cheering her on... she would loose all the older and more conventional peoples votes due to his "feeakiness" just wondered if anyone else noticed his lack of support by being there ?
